Founded by Mark Burnett in 2012, our architectural practice works with clients across Hampshire, Surrey and Berkshire, and has expanded to include Huntingdonshire, Cambridgeshire, Bedfordshire and Northamptonshire.

Mark Burnett
Director

Mark founded Blue Sky CAD in 2012, building on a long career in the architecture and construction industry that began in the mid-1980s.
Mark genuinely enjoys meeting prospective clients at the beginning of a project. His ability to instantly see the potential of a space—often from the moment he steps through the door—is what helps clients feel confident and trust in what’s to come. Clients are drawn to his enthusiasm and the clarity with which he communicates the possibilities ahead.
With a career built on precision and technical excellence, Mark specialises in the intricate details that support successful construction projects. His personal motto, “An Eye for Detail,” is a discipline that shapes every drawing, specification, and decision he makes. A daily commitment that shines through in his drawings and project oversight. Whether it’s a residential renovation or a complex luxury build, Mark ensures that every detail is thoughtfully considered and expertly delivered.
As Director, Mark leads with a blend of creativity, technical know-how, and genuine care for his clients. He’s passionate about creating spaces that work beautifully and stand the test of time.
As a business, Mark has kept Blue Sky CAD perfectly balanced—big enough to deliver professional results, yet small enough to offer a truly personal experience to every client and project.
On his days off, Mark enjoys spending time with his family, visiting National Trust properties and enjoying the cream teas with his wife. He also likes hands-on hobbies like solving puzzles, building Lego sets, and assembling wooden model kits. And when the music’s on, he’s usually listening to Madness—he’s been a fan for many years.
Having been born with Microtia, Mark regularly supports the charity Microtia UK, helping them extend their support to individuals and families affected by the condition. He’s also shared his personal story on LinkedIn. Close
James Millard
Senior Architectural Technologist
James has been with Blue Sky CAD since 2023 and specialises in high-end, prime residential projects. Read more
James has been with Blue Sky CAD since 2023 and specialises in high-end, prime residential projects.
He graduated from Southampton Solent University with a BA Hons in Architectural Technology, and he has worked directly for architectural practices and property developers.
As Senior Architectural Technologist, James leads the technical coordination of projects, producing detailed working drawings and ensuring all elements are accurately aligned with consultants, contractors, and the wider design team. He has an extensive range of experience covering the public, private, and commercial sectors and specialises in delivering precise technical information during Stages 4–5. His pragmatic, proactive approach and strong understanding of on-site construction constraints help ensure every project runs smoothly and reliably.
James says he loves seeing his drawings come to life on-site and, outside work, enjoys spending time with his children. Close
Dan Bolt
Architectural Technician
Dan joined Blue Sky CAD in 2020 and specialises in residential extensions. Read more
Dan joined Blue Sky CAD in 2020 and specialises in residential extensions.
Having graduated in 2013, he began his career as an Architectural Technician in Surrey, where he earned a professional qualification in Construction (HNC). With over a decade of experience in architectural drawing, Dan enjoys the challenge of working with existing spaces—reconfiguring layouts, enhancing light, and making the most of every square metre.
At Blue Sky, he produces planning and building regulation drawings, meets with clients, and liaises with consultants such as structural engineers and energy assessors to ensure projects run smoothly. Colleagues and clients value his calm, laid-back approach and his ability to translate ideas into practical, well-designed solutions. One of his favourite past projects is a local single-storey rear extension where he helped transform a modest space into a bright, open-plan kitchen-diner that genuinely improved the client’s daily life.
Outside work, Dan is kept busy by his young daughter, but when he can, he enjoys football and gaming. His dream home would be simple, cosy, family-friendly and, of course, have a media room. Close
Angela Evans
Office Manager
Angela is our Office Manager and has been part of Blue Sky CAD since 2018. Read more
Angela is our Office Administrator and has been part of Blue Sky CAD since 2018.
Angela keeps the office running smoothly with a wide range of responsibilities - from handling client enquiries, accounting, invoicing and quotes, to managing our social media presence.
With a background in Graphic Design and a strong interest in interior design, Angela brings creativity as well as organisation to the team. Keen to expand her skills, she has also completed a CAD course and assists with drawings and on-site surveys, giving her valuable insight into the design process.
Colleagues describe her as organised, supportive, and amusing, someone who effortlessly balances professionalism with humour. Angela enjoys the variety her role offers and loves seeing projects progress from first enquiry to finished build.
When she gets the chance, she enjoys creating bright, colourful interiors that reflect her lively personality. She also enjoys meals out with her family and unwinding with a peaceful coffee in a spot that offers a view. Close
Chris is the newest member of the Blue Sky CAD team, joining in 2025.
He is an Architectural Technician specialising in 3D renders and technical drawings. With a master’s degree in architecture and nearly seven years of experience, he enjoys bringing designs to life and exploring the technical side of projects that are new to him.
Inspired by his great-grandfather, an architect, Chris is passionate about translating ideas into accurate, visually engaging 3D drawings. He thrives on learning, tackling new challenges, and helping the team ensure every project runs smoothly from concept to completion.
At the weekend, Chris enjoys working on home and garden projects, and thinking of ways a smart, technology-enabled home could make his family’s life easier. Close
